The boys had pasta for lunch today and while Skip finished his quickly, Harry was taking his sweet time. Having finished about 10 minutes earlier, Skip had chosen a dish of ice-cream for their "junk food" snack of the day (Yeah I know, in Russia, it's a staple, here its junk food) and was finishing up when I asked Harry if he too wanted ice cream. His reply was the "stop" hand gesture, and a "no, wait". I didn't think he'd actually want his since he was already looking full, and tired. Skip finished his ice cream and went to find his pillow for rest time.
I was loading the dishwasher when Harry got around to finishing and while he was walking over to give me his plate, I wondered where there was more sauce - in his stomach or on his face. Forgetting I had asked him about the ice cream, I told him to go to the bathroom to wash his face before his rest. He paused for a second then said:
"No mommy, 'arry ice ceam first"
I was impressed! May not be grammatically correct, it was a biggie!
That's a boy 'Arry! Get your ice cream first!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that is so funny! Are you going to home school both boys?
ReplyDeleteKathy, that's the plan for at least the next year - taking it one school year at a time, but, so far, so good.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!

ReplyDeleteps...I just ordered some chow mein sandwich mix. I've been craving it for a while! :) I thought of you when I ordered it.

ReplyDeleteToo cute! What a precious first sentence! Maladyets!
ReplyDeleteHey. I posted on Debbie's blog that I want to thank you and her and Kathy for letting me be an honorary Irkutsk AP. You are the only people I know who've been actively working to bring home children from Russia longer than I have! You all give me hope.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful first sentence! A man after my own heart... :-)
