I should be asleep since my ride comes in about 6 hours, but it's been a long, emotion day. Our bags are packed, our friends are keeping some of our stuff here to make it a little easier, and the apt. has been cleaned... I suppose I'm ready...
This afternoon I gave a note to the caregiver in charge - who as fate would have it, was Natasha, our favorite. I wrote a note explaining that we're leaving for a little bit, hopefully no more than 2 weeks, and that while it's not what we want to do, it's what we NEED to do. I explained about my visa, and INS paperwork, and that we'll return just as soon as we can. Irina translated it into Russian for me, since I wanted to leave the note there so ALL the caregivers know what is going on... I also asked them to tell Harry often that we love him, and will be back for him very soon.
Natasha cried when she read the note - showing me just how much she cares. She is awesome!
when Skip & I were leaving, she gave me a hug.
Earlier in the day, for the first time, I got my first unsolicited "I glove you" from Harry. Yes, he says "glove" you... Every day for 6 weeks, when I leave him I say "I love you". Lately I will say it one word at a time, and he repeats. Today after he did something really cute, I said I love you to him. When I turned to walk away, he chirped in with his own little "I glove you"... ah, timing is EVERYTHING!
