Our attorney finally contacted the court house, and learned that they had received the report from the Angarsk court, and were waiting only for the report from the Chita region, where the last family lives. This family had contacted the court a month ago, explaining they lived in too remote of an area to make the trip to the courthouse, but were willing to give their statements if the court would send a representative to them to take it... apparently this didn't happen.
In any case, our lawyer has urged this family to call the Irkutsk court house directly today, and explain this. In addition, she (our attorney) is going into the court (either today or monday) to ask the court to consider assigning a court date now (since basically THEY failed to send someone out to take their statement).
Bottom line is, we're making SOME progress, and we're hoping to have news this coming week...
