Levi was somewhat correct. The judge is hung up on two things she wants. One medicals in Russia, the other, a letter from the licensing Board in MA, spelling out all sorts of crazy stuff they will guarantee... She didn't "approve" everything else, but didn't ask for additional information. We were able to explain our ways out of most of problems she had in court, except for these two. We have staff at the US embassy in Moscow, as well as other facitlitaors here in Angarsk, trying to help. What we need from everyone there is continued prayers! More later...we hardly slept, trying to facilitate the paperwork from States! Thanks to a friend of Mike's we just may have it. Pray that this and the medicals will appease the judge AND the nasty prosecuter - she is ROUGH!

  2. I don't know why I continue to be surprise at the decisions that are made by this judge...
On Sep 29, here in MN, judges from Russia visited Children's Home (and other agencies). As luck (maybe fate) would have it the other judge from Irkutsk was here.

Each one of us who adotped kids from Irkutsk came to meet the judges (the Irkutsk one in particular) and to show that the kids are well loved and well cared for. Amy & Brian, Susan & John, Mary & Marty, us, and even Patty and Nic drove 2.5 hours from Duluth! There was even another family who had adopted years before us there too.

The judge was amazed because there was only one family NOT from Irkutsk. You could tell she was very proud that "her families" were there. Ana turned on the charm and led the others. She just loved the kids and had many kind things to say about them. We took a bunch of pictures too. (The judge was also from Angarsk originally.) We think her name was ludemilla (or something like that.) She is a pretty woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. She literally beamed at the children the whole time.

Sylvia from CHSFS knew that you are in Irkutsk but did not know what has happened in court. I told her and she was visibly upset. She said she was going to talk to our judge because they were friends. I think that she did and I believe that she "mouthed to me" from across the road that Ludemilla was going to be talking to the other judge.

I hope that that happened and somehow it softens the judge...

I even invited the judge to my house -- which she wanted to come but then Carol W. I think later changed her mind when they talked logistics. You are in my thoughts/prayers. - Diane

  4. Diane -- That is a very encouraging posting! From another waiting family -- thank you for the encouragement and efforts!

Judy - continuing to pray! I'm sure the medicals will go fine - we did them once there already you may remember! Does Skip have to do them also or are they taking the USA ones for him?
