- I packed some (that takes MUCH thought, much effort, much time)
- Mke got our flights to and from JFK taken care of (to get to Moscow, you gotta go through JFK)
- I spoke with the travel agent and got tentative flight arrangements to and from JFK to Moscow to Irkutsk.
- We got our Visa applications printed and filled out - just need to get photos tomorrow at AAA, then fedex them off.
- I started a list of "Still to do" tasks
- We got our travel agent working on either a hotel or apt. in Moscow
- Got our friend Irina working on lodging in Angarsk, and adoption visa invitations from the Center for Adoption
- Got airport transfer from one airport to the next in NY on the way out
- Scoped out hotels for one night in NY since it looks like we won't be able to get a flight home after going through immigration at JFK when we return. The flight gets in late, and by the time we get processed, we'll miss the last AA flight home... Looks like we'll have to spend the nite and return home, finally the next morning.
- Got an appt. to get the boat hauled next week.
- Started to put together a list of bare necessities I'll need to homeschool Skip "abroad" while we're over there!
Doesn't sound like much, but it took all day! Poor Skip was feeling ignored. We promised him IHOP for breakfast - or IHOG as he calls it!
I'm beat, and hoping to sleep tonite - unless last nite....
This is so exciting. I can't imagine what it feels like. Just a crazy whirlwind I guess. I remember the feeling when you know you are getting induced in one week and the feeling of leaving your house without a baby and knowing the next time you come home you will have a baby. To magnify all of that with the long long travel to Russia and all of the stuff that goes along with that...man that is nuts!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize JR was going with you. That is nice.
I wish I were closer and could help with stuff.
I'll just pray---hard.
So exciting!!! You got a lot done!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read while you're gone! Do you mind picking up something for us, if I send you some money?
NO problem at all. Give me an idea what you'd like...just gives me another reason to get out and shop! Of course this time we get to shop Arabat St. in Moscow too!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever purchased tickets from Moscow to IRK via Andrei at Peace Travel? That is how we always get the tickets, and they are about $100 - $300 cheaper - might be worth a call - email (if you don't have anything scheduled yet).
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be remaining very calm in the midst of all of this. I am so excited for you and am praying every day that Harry comes home soon. I can't wait to hear about his HOMECOMING! :)
