In less than 24 hours we leave Boston's Logan Airport on the first leg our trip to Angarsk, Russia via. We are flying on American Airlines into LGA then taking a shuttle to JFK where our 8:25 p.m. Aeroflot flight to Moscow. We arrive in Moscow about 2:30 p.m Tuesday their time as they are 8 hours ahead of us. We get a shuttle from the International to the domestic terminal from which we catch an evening flight to Irkutsk, which is the capital city of the Oblast (Region, the equivalent of a U.S. State). We arrive there at 4:00 a.m Wednesday morning locally, and will be met by our (likely sleepy) friend Irina and travel about 45 minutes to Angarsk. Angarsk is where the apt. we'll be staying in is located, and it is where Harry has resided almost all his life. We'll visit him each day while we wait for court, and take pictures to show the judge, who most certainly want to see - since she'll want "Proof" we've bonded with him once again. We pray that Sunday will be our last visit with him there, and that following court on Monday, we will return to get him forever! We'll be in Angarsk til at least the 17th of October. This includes the mandatory 10 day waiting period, and time to obtain his new birth certificates, and passport. From there it's Moscow where we will have him examined, as required, at the Medical Center, and then we'll be interviewed at the U.S. Embassy. Our plans now are to return to NYC late Tuesday, spend the nite in a airport hotel since we can't make any flights back to Boston, then arrive back at Logan airport on American Airlines Flight 4805 on Thursday October 23rd at 11:45 AM.
I'm excited to see Harry, I terrified of the Judge, but I have faith that God will see us through whatever happens!
Feel free to call us in Russia - remembering we are 13 hours AHEAD of you. Our nite is you day! We will email you the number to call. We have a plan that allows calls to us at something ridiculous like 4cents a minute. It is difficult for us to call out to the USA, so calls from y'all are our lifeline. We're on a prepaid plan, so don't hesitate to call, PLEASE!

ReplyDeleteand oh yes, please email me the phone number(s)... I still remember how the calls from "home" just made my day and we were only there visiting for a few days!!
ReplyDeleteWith the amount of packing, repacking, preparation, paperwork, and running around you've had to do, those real long plane rides may be just what you need... hour after hour of sitting down on the flight, forcing some much desserved relaxation
ReplyDeleteOur hearts are eager, anxious, and very, very hopeful with you. Looks like our trips will overlap. We'll be in Irkutsk Oct 10-19. Please email us the phone numbers, too. We'd love to meet up. It may be our only chance to meet you guys! vandkgroff@comcast.net. Many prayers being sent up for you!
