As we spread the good news of our upcoming trip to Russia with friends at church this morning, I was constantly reminded of how little time we have left before we leave. I realize that crazy as things are right now, I would rather spend the next two weeks running around preparing, than sitting around waiting. I've done enough waiting! So each time I find myself chasing my own tail, I'll remind myself, the time for sitting and waiting has past, now it's time to move! Yesterday I did 80% of the packing. All that is left is stuff I haven't remembered, or can't pack because I'll need it the next two weeks, or it needs to be purchased.
Strangely, Skip has not once asked if we are bringing Harry home. Sadly, I think he has grown accustomed to the concept of going there, visiting, and returning home. I pray this time is different, and he is pleasantly surprised! Luckily, during services, when the deacon prayed for our family "that we might return home with Harry", Skip was too busy fidgeting to catch the meaning behind it... We are grateful that our family at church is so supportive, and keeps us in their prayers.
So now it's time to go outside and "get moving"...picking vegetables, and getting them washed and canned or frozen. Don't want to have anything go to waste while we're gone, so we're harvesting whatever we can!
Yep, times gonna fly the next 15 days!

I can't believe you are leaving in 15 days!! I wish I could go with you - it is going to KILL me to wait and see what happens in court!!!
ReplyDeleteIn the south we say you're going "Ninety to nothin'." I don't know what that means and Bob always laugh at me when I say it, but whatever, you're going ninety to nothin' right now girl.
