On the way home from Dropping Harry off yesterday -Skip & Levi

Mike left yesterday, and last night as Levi packed for home, for the first time, Skip asked when we were leaving. We told him we weren't sure, but in a few days, we'd probably know how long we'll be here. This moring, as Levi got his last minute things together, Skip began to panic. He wanted to know why Levi (his very, very best friend in the whole world) couldn't stay, and a day later, why Mike left too. Yesterday with Levi here, there was enough of distraction for him to understand that this family is slowly taking on temporary, but definite, different roles. When teh taxi came for Levi, they said good-bye, and Levi brought one of his two suicases down stairs. At that moment Skip unravelled, big time. By the time Levi came back up, Skip was just sobbing. Levi spent another minute consoling him, but finally, when it was getting worse, not better, I told Levi he should just leave because soon all three of us would be basket cases. Skip was just clinging to his big brother. Levi left and Skip cried for about 30 minutes. Nothing made him feel better - not even promised of things normally forbidden!

He's been gone about an hour now, and Skip just came over to me and asked "Did you see I was crying for a long time". "Yeah" I told him "but that's okay, you love your brother alot - I know that"...to which he replied. "Yeah, but it was because I VERY missed him"....

Damn this judge!
