I'm so very sad that my other-half has returned to the US. As disappointing as this whole situation has been, our stay here in Angarsk has not been without special memories. We are very much a team - each picking the other up when needed - and relying on the other for support. We have always worked best as a team, and this trip has been no exception. We have laughed, cried, and prayed together the last month. Not to mention brainstormed! As ususal, we've made the most of what we had, and had leftovers! But starting today, we will have to work from opposite ends of the globe...temporarily. I will try to keep things moving here in Russia by calling for daily updates on our case, and try to revise our yet to be completed "adoption visa" that we applied for in August! Mike will handle the paperwork at home. He'll get new police clearances, update our fingerprints for the INS, and any other travel plans. He'll also be starting his new position with HD in Maine - 4 hours away. Not sure how this will work out, but until we are home, together as a family - ALL of us - the job location is a definite back burner. Our priorities now are to bring Harry home before we're completely broke!
Today while I still have help from Levi, we set out to pick up Harry as usual. He came to us quickly, got dressed quickly, and we were on our way to the tram! We stopped at a large shopping complex - just found this one - and picked up a "garage" for the boys hot wheels cars. $600 rubles. Less than $24 USD, less than Fisher Price Quality. BUT, they love it. I wanted to get them something to fill the void today -not that a toy can, but I figure if I keep 'em busy, they deal with the change a little better.
Right now they are wearing their capes, and running around the apt. (first floor, thankfully) playing superheroes. Yesterday Skip was teasing Harry calling him "Super Baby" - not that Harry understood he was being teased, but apparently Skip said it enough because today Harry is yelling "Super Baaaaaaay" as he runs from room to room.
His other favorite phrases now are "Light off" which he says perfectly, & "Light Orn". Orn instead of On, but you get the picture...
When I'm done here, I'm gonna have them "nap/rest", and then they'll have their popcorn. I guess without Mike here, I'll have to join them. Guess Harry will have his first taste of stove popped corn!
Please continue to pray for us. For Mike who will be in Moscow soon, for Levi, who flies tomorrow, and for Skip & I, as we take on these new roles, as partners tomorrow! Although this dial-up doesn't let me do much posting elsewhere, I manage to read all your email, and get to everyone elses blogs at least once a week. You are all in our prayers as well!
