Going back...

The "Welcome to Irkutsk" sign, when entering from Angarsk

... TO COURT!

After a very frustrating Sunday (Harry was not himself, Skip was unbearable) and another long morning today chasing the elusive “Russian Eagle” Seal for our paperwork, while having lunch with Irina & Vova in Irkustk – at SUBWAY no less – yes, there’s now a Subway in Irkutsk – we received a call from our new attorney advising us we have a court date Friday at 10:00.

For the second time I should be jumping for joy, but I don’t trust the judge, so, I’m “cautiously happy”. We still have not finished our medicals – one of the last few doctors wasn’t in today because yesterday was Election Day (who knows what the connection is) and another needs to examine us – tomorrow – at 4:15. So yes, another morning tomorrow of chasing the Seal, a break to visit Harry, then back to the city to see the doctors and HOPEFULLY make it to court by 6 so we can drop off the medicals. Then we’ll have 2 days to wait for the big day – again!

I have several pictures to post but this dial-up is being impossible, so they’ll have to wait a few hours.

Right now laundry & dinner are beckoning…one I’m looking forward to – the other – not so much!

Thanks again for the continued support and prayers! Hopefully a few more days, and we will have real cause to celebrate!
Oh, and almost forgot! We’ve been in such a whirlwind, we hadn’t even noticed what the date is. Heck most days we have to keep looking at our passports to remember who WE are! Tomorrow is my daughter Devin’s birthday (Happy Birthday Devin) and the next day is Mike’s son’s Jason’s birthday! (Happy Birthday Jay).

  1. Just remember - look towards your goal and put one foot in front of the other. You are in our prayers constantly! You'll do great!
" A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you."
On a seperate subject, I feel sad when I see the behavior of these children from lack of proper love and attention. They only know a life in terms of routine (which you MUST take some of that ack with you for his sake). Outside of their routines they behave badly a lot of the time. The older they get, the more loving "holding time" they need. Just a few more days and you'll bring your baby home =)! Hey - have your heard from the Groffs?

  2. That's a different Subway than we ate at in Jan'07 - business must be booming (or it moved!) You're on my calendar for court time prayers - 8pm our time!

  4. Wid,
You're very right about the routines. As young as Skip was, we kept his routine for quite awhile. We'd notice when we strayed from it, he was out of sorts. With Harry we know it will be harder to break the routine, and longer that we'll have to keep it. One day at a time!

    Debbie,
I don't think we had reason to be in Irkutsk in Dec. 06 other than the airport, so I wonder how new this is. It is on th 2nd floor of a main Street.

Thanks for the prayers! We need 'em as you know!

    Kathy,
If we are successful, this is one step closer for ALL of you! We want this SO badly! Perhaps it is finally, the right time, according to the plan God has prepared!
