Train of Hope...or Train of Terror (for us)

This afternoon our friend called to tell us something she thought we should know. While at the BH this morning one of the "Doctors" mentioned something to her about adoptive families coming to visit, which peaked her interest. She in turn called the Head Doctor who told her that an group called "Train of Hope" - organized by the Russian government - will be in the Irkutsk Region from 9 through 11 October seeking children to adopt. She said it’s the first time that this has occurred and that FORTY-FIVE families are involved. Given the judge’s accusations in court that not enough families had be offered Harry, the Head Doctor said there is no way to NOT make him available if a families inquires. She said there is always a chance someone might inquire, but more likely, nothing could come of this but who knows. She did want to tell us though. At first we were pretty upset, but then realize, it could work to our advantage. Harry is a VERY cautious child, and shy with strangers. It is not likely he would “interview” well. That of course is “our train of hope”. Plus, these families are from throughout Russia, visiting the entire Irkutsk Oblast. And, they are not simply going to the Baby Homes and checkin’ the kids out – they are going to the Center for Adoption and looking through the databank. There are thousands of kids. The likelihood that a family chooses him are slim, but we aren’t gonna take that for granted. We pray and hope that no families inquire about him, and THAT will be more proof to the judge, that there are no Russian Families waiting to adopt him!

This news came after a great visit with Harry this morning. He has made a ton of progress in trusting us, and is now happy each time we arrive to visit. He is learning new words each day, and much more comfortable with physical contact. He and Skip can play together without our interference, and they are truly just “two brothers” when they are together. They play, they raise heck, they laugh and they get rough as boys do. They love to be together and this is clear. I catch my breath each time I see the two of them sitting together so comfortably...

PLEASE pray with us during the next three days. We will be praying like we’ve never prayed before, and ask you to join us! There are so many children waiting to be adopted – let’s pray that forty-five other children find families, and that Harry remains free for us to adopt! Through our God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!
