Backrubs...

If you've been following along you'll remember that Harry has difficulty with being touched. He's only now warming up to hugging, and kisses, and anything involving touch! Well the last week or so, in the mornings, I've been jumping on their couch bed and snuggling with him while he's still semi-comatose, and not so jumpy. Well, it's worked! He'll lie down and let me rub his back, and his little head, and his neck, etc. In fact, when I finish, he almost always asks for more.

Tonite he was having a hard time falling asleep because he and Skip actually napped this afternoon. Problem is I really needed them to sleep since we're going to Lake Baikal tomorrow, to enjoy our last day here, with Irina & family.  In order to try and speed up the process, I asked him if he wanted me to lie down with him, and surprisingly, he said yes. He immediately asked me to rub his back, which I did. And then I figured I should sing to him to help him sleep...and darn it, my brain is so fried, the only song I could come up with was a Christmas song - Silent Night! Seemed to work though, he fell asleep in minutes! I guess the language barrier wasn't such a bad thing, in this case!
