We are HOME AT LAST!

Praise God! We landed at ATL around 4:30 last night, then cleared customs/clearance and were met by three wonderful friends. It was overwhelming - emotionally -  to be home AND be met by everyone, including Lisa & Darren, who drove 4 hours with 5-year-old Aidan, and 20 month old Asher, just to be there! Harry was surprisingly VERY comfortable, and had a blast with his news friends, including Evan &; Annicka, both also born in Angarsk! Our flight left ATL at 9:30 and we arrived home in BOS at midnight, and were met by Levi & Grammy. We got home about 1:30, and happily sat in his new car seat (after not having any in Russia - since NOBODY has them!). for the hour ride home. He drifted off to sleep the last 15 minutes - and apparently it revived him!
Harry was THRILLED to finally meet his dog, "Sabaka" AND to learn Sabaka comes in the house too! Harry has been in heaven since we got home. Content to play with all "his" (aka mostly Skips) toys. He hasn't slept yet! Just keeps playing and playing, and playing, and playing. Of course that means I haven't slept yet either. Which means I've been up for about 36 hours and about to crash. Brandi sent me some pictures from the airport -a few of which I've posted below.

Oh, and the hightlight of the last leg from ATL to BOS was Harry being invited to go up to the cockpit and meet the pilots AND sit in the cockpit. He of course then didn't want to get back up and sit in the cheap seats, but eventually agreed to!

Okay, skeep beckons....

Just a bit emotional...ya think?
Evan & Harry
what was too funny - til we learned Harry was
cracking up over Evan's Russian vocabulary!

  4. I'm with Debbie - I had to cry...again! Just the idea of the pilot coming on and saying "welcome to Atlanta"...WOW!

To bad we're so far away - funny thing, I DID have a business trip planned for Atlanta this past week! Too bad it cancelled.

Can't wait to hear your reflections on this ordeal - er, I mean journey :)

  7. It was so wonderful to have that "mini-reunion" in the airport, with all of our kiddos running around like crazy together, enjoying their freedom... their many different kinds of freedom. Those pix above represent so much struggle, victory, and hope!

So, have we decided where the next reunion shall be? :-)
