Did I mention how I hate the time zone change?

Okay, here's what happened here last nite:

6:00 Skip falls asleep.
6:00 Mike & I have an unusually quiet dinner of linguine with meat sauce and some pretty good bread!
7:00 Mike & I go to bed - exhausted again. Not sure from what other than the visit to the BH, and "life"! Not wanting to fall asleep too early, we put a Two-and-a-half men DVD on. It's a TV sitcom so the episodes are only 22 minutes each. We never finished the first one! Gone!
10:00 I wake and check my little travel clock...10 p.m??? How can that be? Oh well, back to sleep.
12:00 Ditto
1:15 Old age prompts me to get up for a bathroom run...
1:16 Skip is right there waiting for me when I come out, claiming he wants breakfast because he's SO hungry.
1:17 p.m. I hand him a 1/4 cup of juice and some teddy graham crackers and tell him he can watch a LITTLE bit of his DVD.
1:55 I check on Skip to find he's still awake - but his snack is gone...
2:00 Having turned off the DVD and kissed him goodnight, again, I head back to bed - only to find Mike awake... Two-and-a-half Men here we come, again.
3:14 Mike checks on Skip - thankfully he's sound asleep.
4:10 Mike is snoring and I feel myself fading quickly. YESSSSSSSSSS. DVD player continues as I fade...
5:00 Clock check - "Are ya kiddin me?" back to sleep
6:02 Can't sleep any longer -though Mike sure can. I climb out quietly and go turn coffee on.
6:02:30 Skip is right behind me. He sees clock and KNOWS I'm gonna tell him to go back til 7. He goes without my asking, but asks to put on his DVD. What the heck, "Have fun".
6:15 I turn computer on to check mail, etc as I sip coffee.
7:00 Skip enters living/bedroom and announces "It's SEVEN"...

Gonna be another long day!

  1. Oh, I'm so happy you've been reunited with Harry!!

I've read back about seven or so posts. Maybe I didn't go back far enough. Does it look like it is going to happen now?? I'm going to be really praying hard!!

I can't imagine the time zone difference. Ugh! I hope you get the rest you need.

  3. Oh my. I'm tired for you. I always take "Simply Sleep" on the first couple of nights when I travel to help adjust to the time changes. Other than sleep it sounds like you are having a great visit. I am very hopeful that this is the time you'll be able to bring Harry home. The boys are so cute together and look so much alike. Is Boris still around? It is nice to hear about Irina too. Please say hello for me. Best Wishes!

  4. That sleep for a few hours - check the clock game is HORRIBLE isn't it? We're having all kinds of trouble adjusting back to normal time. Slept 4 hours the first night home, 12 the next, up at 4am the next - then this a.m. woke up at 5 - went back to sleep, and forced myself out of bed at 9. Jet lag / time difference is KILLER!

WHen I was there, I took 2 Acai supplement things every day when I got up, and a Melatonin with dinner - I thought that would help...
