These days for obvious reasons, my source of entertainment is often in the things the boys do & say as they adjust to life as a family as brothers. I thought I should put some of the funny moments in writing while I can still recall them: Here's a few
Skip: When Harry is 6 and can speak English, can I tell him that I was born in Russia like him
Me: Sure, but why when he's 6.
Skip: Because when he is 6 and old like me, he will 'preciate it better.
Irina: (in Russian) So, Harry did you talk to Poppa today.
Harry: Da (Yes)
Irina: And what did he say
Harry: He said he has lots of money!
(Not sure where THAT came from but if only it were true!)
Harry: (as he and I sit at the table finishing our dinner) Coat Momma? (Coat=Coke to Harry)
Me: No, eat and Mommy will give you more juice
Harry: (one minute later) Coat Momma?
Me: No, eat and Mommy will give you more juice
Harry: Eshore (More) Coat Momma?
Me: No, eat and Mommy will give you more juice
Harry: Eshore?
[I then ignore his next few pleas)
Harry: Puh-lease Momma?
Me: well you're almost done and that was good use of words, so okay, a tiny bit
(Yes, I know, Bad Mommy - but he did finish eating if that makes it any better)
Me: Skip, come here please
Me: Skip, come here please, Mommy needs you
Me: Skip! Mommy said to come here please.
Harry: MI-chael, Edee (Go to) Momma, Good Boy!
Skip: Be quiet you (to Harry)
Me: (as I heat chicken tenders in a frying pan and pointing to the fire) Harry, Fire
Harry: Fi-uh
Me: Good Boy! Fire hot!
Harry: ot?
Me: (as I turn the fire up high) Yes, Fire is hot.
Harry: Balshoi Fire Balshoi 'ot!! (Big Fire, Very hot!)
Me: Well 1/2 English, 1/2 Russian is good!
Harry: 'Sto? (What?)
Me: (laughing) Good boy!
Harry to Skip: Skip, C'mere
Skip in Response: Nyet, Pash-lee. (No come here)
Harry: Skip No! C'mere
Skip: Harry Nyet! Pashe-lee
Harry: Skip - Ne good boy (Not a good boy)
Skip Plo-ko (From what I can tell means Naughty boy)
(Did ya notice Harry spoke in English, Skip in Russia? Go figure!)
