The Top Ten Things that Amuse Harry:
- Turning the light to turn on and off again…repeatedly…in rapid succession…when you least likely expect it.
- Watching me emerge from the bathroom after my shower…so he can laugh at me with a towel wrapped around my head.
- Spraying down the toilet seat after he uses it. Then spraying down the floor, and the walls, and the toilet tank, the door handles….
- Seeing how many electronic talking toys/devices he can turn on at one time. Do you have any idea what A Wiggles Medley, Elmo’s World, Lightning McQueen, Tom & Jerry on Russian DVD, and Thomas the Tank Engine sound like ALL AT ONCE? We do!
- Repeating “Mi-Co” (Michael) everytime he hears us reprimand Skip. Not sure what bugs Skip more – US reprimanding him, or Harry chiming in with his two cents!
- Rolling his new backpack/suitcase around the apartment – or – wearing it around his neck, chest or back. The bag is empty, and he’s in his pajamas, but clearly, in his mind, he’s going places!
- Sneaking into the entry room, taking 4 candies from the jar, handing one out to each of us, then looking at me with those blue eyes, and asking sweetly, “Can-Dee?”
- “HELPING” us do laundry. Need I explain?
- Waiting until Skip starts a new games on his handheld TV thingy, THEN pressing the off button
- Sweeping the floor with his Talking (of course) Sweeping Sam broom. If your feet get in his way accidentally, of well. They get swept too.
It is such a joy to see that you're all thriving and adjusting so well. We'll pray for extra strength, patience, endurance, and rest for you as Mike heads home. Sure wish we were there with you! At least your blog lets us be flies on the wall...
ReplyDeleteI love the top 10 list.... a preview of things to come :) Maybe the backpack reminds him, not where he's going.... but where he's not going (back to the baby home).... as far as the candies... he figures "how can they get mad at me if i am sharing?".... as far as Skip's video game, Skip must have some patience to allow that to happen, and it occoured to me that he likes pushing buttons, both concrete and figurative... lol... I like the top 10 list, how cute
ReplyDeleteOh and the laundry thing.... he must take after Skip, who if he ever finds me doing laundry at home, offers to help, and despite the response proceeds to pick up a piece of clothing and tries to throw it in the washer :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a joy!!
